12 Kiwi days of Christmas!

 

Today we were making our own version of the 12 days of christmas! I was in a group with Mercedes, Kehia, Tuturi and Whare! So basically we rewrite the 12 days! The theme we went for was funny and kiwi things. If I made my own version I probably would have made it more kiwi like and less funny but that's fine.

So... Today we learned about rewriting the 12 days of christmas and making it kiwi like first we read a kiwi version of the 12 days of christmas and then we listened to a song on youtube of the kiwi 12 days of christmas.

I enjoyed coming up with some ideas even though I only got to do one, but still I liked coming up with ideas that I could use maybe if I ever did this again! I also came up with the idea of the six pavlova because I thought it sounded cool.

It was challenging to find a background that was not blurry so the slide looked tidy, also there were not many options for the backgrounds because we had maori words and google did not really understand.

I found it easy to get our brainstorming done quickly because all we had to do was think of some things that relate to new zealand and being a kiwi and also some funny things.

Next time If I made my own version I would make it more about new zealand and add less funny things because some of the things did not really make sense.

What is special about christmas?

 Today I learned about writing a letter because normally in our class we don't write letters so this was pretty fun and creative, you also may be wondering... "Who was the letter for?" Let me tell you! So our class is in a competition and the best writer for a "What is special about christmas?" writing.

I enjoyed publishing it again onto a google slide. Because it was fun to do fonts and stuff.

It was sort of hard choosing a colour for my writing because it blended into the background so you could not read it.

Next time I will make my slides more interesting and eye catching.

Do you celebrate guy fawkes?

Today I learned about creating a acrostic poem! At first I did not know what that was and when I looked at the example poems it seemed pretty easy.  It's technically having a certain word like my key word was bonfire. Then you write words or sentences that go with the letters.

I enjoyed making my poem, it was super easy and really fun. I also want to make more with other words instead of words that have to do with fireworks and stuff.

The challenging part was when I had to find words for O and E, I didn't know what words would go there I thought about the letters for a bit and came up with... "Orange, blue, yellow, green." And "Epic shapes and smells." I think I could have thought of something better for E though.

The easy part was publishing this onto a google slide, it was easy because all you do is copy your poem and then put it in a slide. Super easy. I also found that finding fonts for my words was easy because all you have to do is search through your fonts, try a few, and then when you find the perfect one you use it.

Next time I will probably use a better background since mine was a little plane and then I will add more fireworks in the background too.

How To Make A Recount... With Krisharn!

Me and my writing buddy (Krisharn) discovered these 10 things that make a good recount.

1.Use interesting words

2. Make sure your recount is in order.

3.Always use time connectives.

4.Make sure your answering who,what,when,why.

5.To make it interesting Include scenes such as see,hear,smell,touch,taste.   

6. Using adjectives, onomatopoeia and putcation.

7. Use 1,2,3 planning for your paragraphs.

8.Make sure paragraphs are not too long.

9.Recounts are in the past not present

10.End with feelings.

My writing goal for term 4 is too write less long paragraphs.

We were learning about recounts again and remembering how to make a recount and gather our facts and put them into a doc and then post our thoughts onto our blogs.

I found it easy to remember all my facts and knowledge about recounts and then put it into a doc it was also helpful watching the recount recap video.

It was hard to think of 10 reasons because we only thought of about 6 reasons at first.

Next time I will get more ideas and rewatch the video.

The Environment is our Responsibility!

 

This is some writing about the environment and how it is our responsibility! This writing sample took me about 4 or 5 days, i'm not sure. I really enjoyed writing this because I like finding out facts about the environment! 

We were learning about... In my writing class we are learning about persuasive writing! Persuasive writing is when you want to convince someone to have the same opinion as you! So you try to persuade them, for example someone wants chocolate milk but you want strawberry so you try to make them want strawberry milk as well!

I found it easy to... I found it pretty easy to finish my publishing and doing the word art and all that other cool stuff, I also found it easy to paste my writing into my google slide! It was pretty easy and fun anyway.

I found it challenging to ... I think it was sort of hard getting all the links into my slide, it kept glitching and then in the end I figured out how I would put my links in.

Next time I will... Try to finish my writing sample in 2 days so I can post it too my blog.

Environmental poem.

 

We were learning about creating a poem about a treasure we found. (I found a flower if the poem and the background wasn't a hint).

I found it easy to write my poem without any problems or distractions and get it finished in the time given.

I found it challenging to think of what to write in my poem at the end, since I did not want it to be too long.

Next time I will make my poem longer, since my poem is sort of short, I also originally wanted to make it rhyme but that did not work out. 😄

My Favorite Time Of Day

We were learning about writing our favorite time of day and posting it onto our blog.
I found it easy to publish my writing onto a google slide and write my stems.
I found it challenging to think of what to write since people around me were distracting.
Next time I will focus more on my writing other than whats going on around me.

Wild Lab Recount!

We were learning about writing a recount about either The Awapuni Fun Run or Wild Lab and then when we finished we learnt about re-crafting and editing.

I found it easy to publish my writing into a google slide, find backgrounds and change the font and size.

I found it challenging to write my story but make it short since I tend to write a lot.

Next time I will try to make my writing shorter and not to get distracted.

Matariki Star Report!

We were learning about, matariki stars and researching about them for our report, we were also learning about making a report.

I found it easy to research and finish my report on time so I could post it.

I found it challenging to complete my matariki star report in three days.

Next time I will write more into my paragraphs so it is a longer report.

our amazing furniture

We were learning about using polyline properly and working together in a co-operative group.I found it easy to write down my ideas on slide 7 and polyline the items!I found it hard to do the crayons because i kept messing up on the black patterns.I really enjoyed polylining everything on the table and writing down my  ideas!Next time I need to be way more faster because we had about 2 more minutes and we were barely done but we finished in time!

Morris is a gross monster!!!

We were learning about Morris the gross monster who eats bugs and stuff like that! I found it easy to do all the writing and post to my blog in the time given!I found it hard to think of ideas for Morris and what he should look like.I really enjoyed making Morris accept i did want him to look a bit different.Next time I need to be faster making Morris accept i did finish him quickly. 

My rugby uniform for Ireland.

We were learning about different country's and there rugby uniforms me and Teina worked on this.

I found it easy to design my own rugby shirt and research on the web about Ireland.

I found it hard to think of ideas for the socks and shorts that why theirs not much there.

I really enjoyed drawing that hare or rabbit and also the deer which looks cool.

Next time I need to probably need too add more on the socks and stuff. yeah...

Waka info report!

We were learning about the 4 wakas or boats and making information reports about them!

I found it easy to finish my writing in the time given and correct my spelling!

I found it hard to think of things for my opening statement and closing statement!

I really enjoyed making this into a slide and publish it (same thing)!

Next time I need to draw polyline pitchers to do with my writing thats why not every slide has a pitcher maybe ill change that.

my playground writing

We were learning about how to use polyline and zooming in when we use it so it doesn't look too bad

I found it easy to draw my cats with polyline a design my awesome playground.

I found it hard to finish my writing when we only had a few more minutes. 

I really enjoyed designing my playground and it ended up not looking to bad!  

Next time I need to probably be quicker when I write because I was a bit slow and ended up not doing much...

We were learning about collaborating with a buddy and working together even if your not with your best friend.

I found it easy to make this video.
