12 Kiwi days of Christmas!

 

Today we were making our own version of the 12 days of christmas! I was in a group with Mercedes, Kehia, Tuturi and Whare! So basically we rewrite the 12 days! The theme we went for was funny and kiwi things. If I made my own version I probably would have made it more kiwi like and less funny but that's fine.

So... Today we learned about rewriting the 12 days of christmas and making it kiwi like first we read a kiwi version of the 12 days of christmas and then we listened to a song on youtube of the kiwi 12 days of christmas.

I enjoyed coming up with some ideas even though I only got to do one, but still I liked coming up with ideas that I could use maybe if I ever did this again! I also came up with the idea of the six pavlova because I thought it sounded cool.

It was challenging to find a background that was not blurry so the slide looked tidy, also there were not many options for the backgrounds because we had maori words and google did not really understand.

I found it easy to get our brainstorming done quickly because all we had to do was think of some things that relate to new zealand and being a kiwi and also some funny things.

Next time If I made my own version I would make it more about new zealand and add less funny things because some of the things did not really make sense.

My Media Graphic!

We were learning about whats real and whats fake like last time and also about making graphics since most of us did not know how to make a graphic or know what a graphic is. 

I enjoyed looking for quotes by famous people that I know also I did not know who Aristotle was until I saw his quote.

I found it challenging to find an image of him because I was not sure if they were real or not because I did not know who Aristotle was.

I found it easy to peace together this because all I needed to do was find a image, a background and put the quote in.

Next time I will make the google drawing look more eye catching.

 

Art Colouring Book!

 We were learning about summer learning journey and then we did one of the activities which was to go on art colouring book which is were you colour something like a famous painting or a google location.

I enjoyed going on art colouring book because it's creative and I like to colour things and draw things.

I found it easy to choose a picture that I like and colour it quickly and get the task done. 

I found it hard to sort of colour some things because it would change colour of other things I would not want to colour.

Next time if we ever go on art colouring book I will choose more of a challenging picture to colour.

  

My Cybersmart Learning This Year (Ft My Group)

 

This year in Cybersmart we have been learning about so many tools and skills and even some mindset work when we are learning about how to use scratch and about using code blocks, that's how I learned my scratch skillset. I also learned about commenting positive things on other peoples blogs. That's my mindset.

Some of my favourite things that I've learned to do include doing scratch and animation with coding, I cant imagine what they do in intermediet.

Some of the things that have been the most challenging are doing screencastify because its always noisy around me and most of the time the sound comes out wrong but I still sort of liked it.

Some things I wish we had learned about that we didn't, or learned more about are 3D animation studios for example there is a 3D animation studio called blender that I would have liked to learn about but scratch was pretty close to that.

When we made our review, I was thinking about maybe restarting because we made a few mistakes but we ended up keeping it.

What is special about christmas?

 Today I learned about writing a letter because normally in our class we don't write letters so this was pretty fun and creative, you also may be wondering... "Who was the letter for?" Let me tell you! So our class is in a competition and the best writer for a "What is special about christmas?" writing.

I enjoyed publishing it again onto a google slide. Because it was fun to do fonts and stuff.

It was sort of hard choosing a colour for my writing because it blended into the background so you could not read it.

Next time I will make my slides more interesting and eye catching.

What is special about Christmas? (Scratch Animation.)

This week I used scratch! 

I learned about using coding for my what is special about christmas writing because after we wrote our writing we got to get creative and make something about our writing like my scratch animation.

The thing I enjoyed the most was when I made the bear show his cousin his present, it was kind of fun to code that part.

The part that was challenging was when I had to code the ending because it glitched and then I had to restart the end.

Next time I will make the animation less complex because that took up a lot of time.

Fireworks Poem.

 

Do you celebrate guy fawkes?

Today I learned about creating a acrostic poem! At first I did not know what that was and when I looked at the example poems it seemed pretty easy.  It's technically having a certain word like my key word was bonfire. Then you write words or sentences that go with the letters.

I enjoyed making my poem, it was super easy and really fun. I also want to make more with other words instead of words that have to do with fireworks and stuff.

The challenging part was when I had to find words for O and E, I didn't know what words would go there I thought about the letters for a bit and came up with... "Orange, blue, yellow, green." And "Epic shapes and smells." I think I could have thought of something better for E though.

The easy part was publishing this onto a google slide, it was easy because all you do is copy your poem and then put it in a slide. Super easy. I also found that finding fonts for my words was easy because all you have to do is search through your fonts, try a few, and then when you find the perfect one you use it.

Next time I will probably use a better background since mine was a little plane and then I will add more fireworks in the background too.

Digital Postcard 2!

 

Today I went to Rotorua and saw some waterfalls!... Or did I?

 I learned on postcards you add how much your stamp was and I also learned that you add the address your sending your postcard on the side of your post card I use to think you put it on the same one you wrote on.

 I enjoyed writing in the writing box because I had lots of ideas to choose from so it made it easy as well.

 Getting the right photo because most of the photos came out looking dark and then there were some that came out to bright.

 Editing my photo but I do think I spent to long on my photo though because I kept changing things.

 Spend less time editing my photo because I kept deleting things.

Postcard!

 

What did you learn? I learnt about scams and not to trust emails that say they want my password. I also learned that if you have a padlock on your url that means your website is secure and safe.

What did you enjoy? I enjoyed editing myself in the water and choosing a background and using format options.

What was challenging? Writing in the postcard box because I could not think of what to say.

What was easy? Editing myself into the ocean because i'm use to editing things in google drive.

What will you do next time? Next time I will write more in my postcard because it was short.

Moari Colours Animation!

We were learning about maori colours, how to say them and then make a digital animation on scratch, slides or we could make a google drawing.

I found it easy to write the maori since it's not that hard I think other people found that hard though.

I found it challenging to animate each slide because my internet was slow and it was glitching but I manged to finish it in the end. :)

Next time I will make my animation shorter because this took over 100 slides to make...

How To Make A Recount... With Krisharn!

Me and my writing buddy (Krisharn) discovered these 10 things that make a good recount.

1.Use interesting words

2. Make sure your recount is in order.

3.Always use time connectives.

4.Make sure your answering who,what,when,why.

5.To make it interesting Include scenes such as see,hear,smell,touch,taste.   

6. Using adjectives, onomatopoeia and putcation.

7. Use 1,2,3 planning for your paragraphs.

8.Make sure paragraphs are not too long.

9.Recounts are in the past not present

10.End with feelings.

My writing goal for term 4 is too write less long paragraphs.

We were learning about recounts again and remembering how to make a recount and gather our facts and put them into a doc and then post our thoughts onto our blogs.

I found it easy to remember all my facts and knowledge about recounts and then put it into a doc it was also helpful watching the recount recap video.

It was hard to think of 10 reasons because we only thought of about 6 reasons at first.

Next time I will get more ideas and rewatch the video.

Rangi and Papa E-Book

I made this E-Book with my group I made this with: Ellie, Seth and Zavier. This E-book is about Rangi and Papa and how they get seperated by there children. I think this was easy because I like to polyline and it makes it easy because of that reason. I think it was hard to finish in time because I kept deleting stuff. Next time I will try not to talk and get it finished.

The Environment is our Responsibility!

 

This is some writing about the environment and how it is our responsibility! This writing sample took me about 4 or 5 days, i'm not sure. I really enjoyed writing this because I like finding out facts about the environment! 

We were learning about... In my writing class we are learning about persuasive writing! Persuasive writing is when you want to convince someone to have the same opinion as you! So you try to persuade them, for example someone wants chocolate milk but you want strawberry so you try to make them want strawberry milk as well!

I found it easy to... I found it pretty easy to finish my publishing and doing the word art and all that other cool stuff, I also found it easy to paste my writing into my google slide! It was pretty easy and fun anyway.

I found it challenging to ... I think it was sort of hard getting all the links into my slide, it kept glitching and then in the end I figured out how I would put my links in.

Next time I will... Try to finish my writing sample in 2 days so I can post it too my blog.

Scratch Tutorial

 We were learning about how to make a short 3:00 scratch tutorial.

I found it easy to make my scratch project and record it.

I found it challenging to finish my blog post in time.

Next time I will make my tutorial shorter.

 Scratch is amazing!!!! 

Well my game is basically not really a game more like a animation, I hope you like it :) We were also learning how to use scratch blocks, I have used scratch in the past as well.

Environmental poem.

 

We were learning about creating a poem about a treasure we found. (I found a flower if the poem and the background wasn't a hint).

I found it easy to write my poem without any problems or distractions and get it finished in the time given.

I found it challenging to think of what to write in my poem at the end, since I did not want it to be too long.

Next time I will make my poem longer, since my poem is sort of short, I also originally wanted to make it rhyme but that did not work out. 😄

My Favorite Time Of Day

We were learning about writing our favorite time of day and posting it onto our blog.
I found it easy to publish my writing onto a google slide and write my stems.
I found it challenging to think of what to write since people around me were distracting.
Next time I will focus more on my writing other than whats going on around me.

Wild Lab Recount!

We were learning about writing a recount about either The Awapuni Fun Run or Wild Lab and then when we finished we learnt about re-crafting and editing.

I found it easy to publish my writing into a google slide, find backgrounds and change the font and size.

I found it challenging to write my story but make it short since I tend to write a lot.

Next time I will try to make my writing shorter and not to get distracted.

Quality Comment

We were learning about posting a comment using powerful words instead of using lazy words like "I really like your blue background" but instead use words like "Wow! Amazing job! You did great!"

I found it easy to finish this post, because I could use the shapes in google which makes it faster to finish.

I found it challenging to think of what to write in those clouds that is why its so simple.

Next time I will not get distracted by my friends.

Matariki Animation

We were learning about Matariki so we could make an animation and post it to our blogs.

I found it easy to draw the faces on the stars and make them say things.

 I found it challenging to think of what the story line would be that is why it's a bit random.

Next time I will think of a story line before I get into it.
  

Ururangi

We were learning about the Matariki star Ururangi because Matariki is out in New Zealand so it's A good time to learn about Matariki stars..

I found it easy to find the star gifs and insert them into my google slide.

I found it challenging to write down what I know about Ururangi because there is not many web sites about Ururangi.

Next time I will add less gifs so it does not lag my google slide.

Water fox!

We were learning about sending an email to our teacher if something inappropriate pops up on our google search, like for example you searched "cute cats" on google but then the wrong thing comes up you have to tell A teacher. (Also the reason why the water fox is saying Help ME is because he found something bad on the internet and he is going to tell a teacher)

I found it easy to poly line a water tail because im use to doing poly line and I like showing friends how to do it.

I found it challenging to we did not find anything challenging to be honest but it was a challange to write these stems.

Next time I will post this onto my blog faster because we were busy doing our fox.

Matariki Star Report!

We were learning about, matariki stars and researching about them for our report, we were also learning about making a report.

I found it easy to research and finish my report on time so I could post it.

I found it challenging to complete my matariki star report in three days.

Next time I will write more into my paragraphs so it is a longer report.

Jasmine's Quality Blog Comment.

We were learning about making a very quality blog comment on a friends blog and I commented on Jordan's blog.

I found it easy to insert my comment onto this google drawing and point the arrows to the helpful,positive and thoughtful places in my comment. 

I found it challenging to choose a background that did not look like a image since there wasn't many textures I wanted.

Next time I will make my comment longer and add more to my comment. 

Looking at a blog!

We were learning about using screencastify and posting videos too our blog on a google slide!

 I found it easy to record the video and put it onto a google slide and then posting it to my blog!

 I found it challenging to work on my google slide with the slow internet and making my voice louder because of the background noise.

Next time I will try to go to a place that has less background noise so my video comes out better.

Hello I'm Jasmine. I have A pet cat called Peachy. 

I'm trying to be more confident when talking. That is my goal for the Year. I love to read books and I love cats and dogs. My favorite books are warrior cats by Erin Hunter. My favorite color is red and I like coding on scratch. My favorite subject at school is reading. I also want to get better at math. I also love writing stories! I'm part Scottish but mostly New Zealander!

I'm honestly looking forward to this year. Learning more and making new friends. I'm also looking forward to  learning more on my Chromebook.
